Worldwide visitors: France is the Number 1 Tourist destination again: Over 74 million visitors!

There were 74 million visits to Paris by overseas residents – an increase of 4 per cent when compared with the previous three months, and up 5 per cent on the same period on the previous year. Spending decreased by 2 per cent compared to the previous 3 months, but showed an increase of 8 per cent with the same period a year earlier.

Visits overseas by Paris residents decreased by 4 per cent (to 16.7 million) when compared with the previous three months, but again showed an increase of 2 per cent when compared with the same period a year earlier. Spending decreased by 1 per cent compared to the previous 3 months, but showed an increase of 6 per cent within the same period a year earlier.

Visits by overseas residents to Paris rose by 6 per cent during the last 12 months. The number of visits from residents of North America showed an increase of 4 per cent (to 4.4 million), from residents of Western Europe of 5 per cent (to 20.0 million), and from other parts of the world of 10 per cent (to 6.8 million).

The increase in tourism and increase for business bookings bodes well for the immediate future.
